Wow where has the time gone! A year has gone by since “Jacob of Abbington Pickets” was published! So proud! Well what should we do to celebrate? I know! A tea Party!
Join Abigail for an English cup of tea at our “Abbington Pickets Tea Party” in honour of the first year of my first novel! It’s been a wonderful journey and definite learning curve, but I wouldn’t have changed anything. I am currently working on the next book, which will continue Jacob’s life.

Getting ready for a Book Launch is very exciting. Not to mention a lot of work! The invitations go out, the speech is wrote, the food is planned, there are decorations to consider, props or no props? balloons no balloons? and what kind of refreshments? it’s not like you plan a Book Launch every year, but it does bring more creativity out in me. Celebrating the first novel I ever wrote only happens once in a life time.
I found this table at a garage sale. I loved it at first sight! Although it needed a fair bit of work (thanks to my father in law) it was a beautiful table. I usually don’t paint wood but this piece seemed to need more help than a new brush of varnish. I decided to chalk paint it and “antique” it. I stencilled the top with a small sign and writing on top. The legs on it have cast iron feet, which needed a little help as well, so with a little grinding and sanding (help from my father in law again lol) they look like new! I knew this little table would be perfect for promoting my new novel. You will be able to see this table and other props at the Book Launch, Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015. Everyone is welcome!

I own a quilt shop and design my own patterns, so of course I couldn’t give up the opportunity to design a quilt pattern for my newest word creation! I have named the pattern “Jacob’s Table.” Now I can not tell you anymore and ruin the adventure of you reading the book, so for now this is all you can know. I had the privilege of showing Jacobs Table for the first time in Carlyle Saskatchewan, my hometown at their annual quilt show during Homespun this past weekend. I was truly honoured and excited that it won “Viewers Choice”! What a great kick off to my novel!
Coming soon Jacob’s Table’ quilt pattern. If you would like to order this pattern please email me @ firstname.lastname@example.org

Hello everyone! I know you all are waiting to hear when my book will be available. I too am having trouble being “patient”. I have been writing little tid bits about the novel to prepare for future blog posts as I wait. My cover should be done this week, and I am so excited on how it’s turning out. My dream of being a writer is becoming a reality!!!

Thank you for hanging in there and supporting me during this wonderful journey.
Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement regarding my up coming novel! One question friends are asking me is, “Where did you find the time?” That’s a great question! I have been wanting to write a book since I was twelve years old, but I didn’t get real serious about until about six years ago. Over that time, I have researched on how to write a novel, how to get it published, how to create characters, an so on and so forth. Meanwhile I had started several novels which I didn’t continue until I started this one. Last year in January I started writing but because of the busy year I had, I had to put it on hold. This passed January, another new year had begun and I told myself this was going to be the year I would publish my novel. My hubby gave me a new lap top for Christmas and that was one of the reasons it was more achievable.
Every evening after supper, in my Grandad’s comfy chair that is draped with a quilt, I would sit with my feet up on the ottoman and type to my heart’s content. Sometimes I would stare at the screen with the TV on and not type a thing and then other times I would type so much I would lose track of the time. I just made it a priority to always sit down at the same time every day and it was very effective. The weekends I would sometimes find more time, but generally it was the evenings on weekdays. At first it was a routine that took getting used to, but by the time I finished the first draft of my manuscript I felt like, “What shall I do with the rest of my life?” It was a joke I told myself. But there is more to writing a book than you think, which I am finding out. I am enjoying the journey and hope you will follow me as I take this giant leap forward.
